Leeds FAN Background

How Leeds FAN built a joined-up food support network

In late 2010, local services in Leeds began working together to improve signposting for vulnerable people, especially for emergency food support. In 2013, discussions with food providers and Leeds City Council led to start-up funding for Leeds Food Aid Network (FAN), with the first official meeting in January 2014.

Leeds FAN focuses on signposting to food providers, better food distribution across the city, and stronger collaboration between organisations, communities and institutions tackling food poverty.
